Something interesting about
making coffee that I learned from Evan - If you add salt to the top of your grounds (in the filter/basket) before you hit "GO" on the java pot you'll have MUCH better java! I was astounded by this!!!
After a few mornings at Pooh Corner I had noticed that when Evan made the java it had a much "smoother" flavor... I thought it was just the goofiness of new love, so I dismissed it...
Then one morning I saw that the
salt grinder was sitting out WITH the java accoutrements on the counter... Upon further investigation, Evan broke and told me his little trick... I started slow because I wasn't sure of the proportions... On the salt grinder I started with 4 "turns of the grinder", inching it up slowly... I seem to hover around 8 turns of the grinder now. If you enjoy coffee, give that a try...
Likewise, if you think you
don't like java - perhaps you should give this a try... See my "All Things Java" board on Pinterest below for more goodies!
