WE'RE Illegal... A High School Memory

Good morning and Happy Monday folks!  I'm recovering this morning from the yard sale this weekend, so I just thought I'd take a minute to unload my noggin as I sip my morning java...

A Bit About Blogging - 17 Bodies, 140,000 Shares and 5 Easy Steps for Researching an Article

It's no secret that it's my goal to make an income off of blogging and other projects that are of my own creation... The money comes from ad clicks and traffic and traffic comes from "likes" and "Shares"...

Paper or Plastic? ... Or Both?!? Resource Conservation at the Grocery...

Today in Mom's blog, she wrote about her disappointment with our local grocery store - Big John ... They have recently added a beer and wine area and she is adamantly against drinking in any shape, form or fashion for any reason...

It doesn't really catch my radar one way or another... It's a logical decision for a grocery to

make, I'm sure beer and wine are tremendous "add-on" purchases ... that's why we have candy bars in the check out line - also ... deadly to many ... eh .. as far as I'm concerned if you want to drink, then drink and if you don't want to drink, then don't ... same thing I think about gay marriage, gambling and many of the other things people get so wound up about...

There's Salt in the Java! Now What? - Tips to a Javarific Cup of Coffee

I knew that the salt in java post would be popular ... and I knew it was a great chance to really target some keywords and try to figure out what I was

lacking in my monetizing set up, but I had NO idea it would (at an age of 4 months, I wrote it in February) be only a few reads from passing every single blog post I have posted in Nucleus since I began posting here in 2010ish...

Blogging, Turning 40 and Heat Stroke - a Saturday Morning Update

Good morning! I have been trying all week to find

time to drop in here and dump my Noggin... longer than a week, actually... I've been moving from one thing to the next so fast that I just noticed this morning I hadn't flipped the daily calendar in the kitchen since the 17th! So I guess the last four days have sort of run together.

April 21 - On this day in 1986 - Geraldo, Al Capone and a Splitting Headache!

On this day in 1986 - Geraldo Rivera opened a vault that belonged to Al Capone at the Lexington Hotel in Chicago. Nothing of interest was found inside.

I was so excited all day... That night, live on TV - Geraldo was going to open Al Capone's vault!  I hadn't been entirely up to speed on who Al Capone was, but had become extremely excited after learning that this vault might be blown open to find old gangster bones and no telling what else...

It's Stress Awareness Month and that in Itself Stresses Me Out!

It's so easy to become stressed these days... I hate to sound 140 years old, but let's just think back a minute - when I was ten or so years old we were all just starting to break free of telephone cords...  and now, on the eve of forty - it seems we're considered archaic by some if we don't have our phones shoved up our fannies twenty-four hours a day...

Stress is and will continue to increase in leaps and bounds as long as the following factors remain in place...

8 Minute Timers Have Saved Me and They Can Save You Too!

The Timer I use most is a black Kitchen Aid
Timer like the one shown above.
They haven't quite saved me yet, but they've assisted me in making tremendous progress!  It's as simple as can be... A Kitchen Timer...

My Mom has sang the praises of "set the timer" for as long as I can remember.  It didn't matter if she was tidying the house before Dad got home from work and sat us down with a project and instructions that no one move from that space until the timer went off OR if we were
causing absolute chaos and destruction and wound up with our "Noses on the Wall" hearing every tick of the timer waiting for it to be over.  I think you "new fangledy parents" call that "Time Out" now...

Anywho, if you think about it -

I'm Getting Organized and It's Gonna Stick This Time! You Can TOO!!!!

I've been working on "Getting Organized" and I think it's going to stick this time after I get everything under control.  I've always been a bit of a pack rat, myself... and Evan is a bit of a pack rat and now that

we have transferred all of our pack rattedness to one address, we have an overwhelming amount of "stuff".

I had yard sales throughout the decent weather last year and made a fair several hundred bucks over the course of those and cleared a good amount of stuff, but it's so much work to have a yard sale and in all honesty, I'm starting to feel forty! (which is as astounding to me as salt in java!)  I notice that I tire out more quickly and I think of Grandma Comer playing pitch and catch with me in her backyard 30 years ago and having to sit down because "Grandma's not ten anymore, Kim Ann hun...."

For A Fantastic Morning Cuppa Java ... Add SALT!

Something interesting about
making coffee that I learned from Evan - If you add salt to the top of your grounds (in the filter/basket) before you hit "GO" on the java pot you'll have MUCH better java!  I was astounded by this!!!

A Quick Morning Note - 01/17/2014

So I ran over to find a quick "On This Day" to kick things off and found this...
1949 - "The Goldbergs" debuted on CBS-TV. The program had been on radio since 1931. The TV version lasted for four years.
Well of course it caught my eye because currently one of my absolute favorite shows is, The Goldbergs (wrote about it here in DVR Round Up)... So anywho, I didn't know there had been a radio show,
