Good morning and Happy Monday folks! I'm recovering this morning from the yard sale this weekend, so I just thought I'd take a minute to unload my noggin as I sip my morning java...
I saw this graphic go by in the news feed on FB yesterday... I think Kristy shared it.. anywho, it caught my attention right away and made me laugh out loud. It's very true ... I'm not a history expert... I've never claimed to be. I enjoy history SO much more now than I did when I was a kid having to learn and regurgitate facts for tests. I'd love to sit in on a high school history class now ... not just for nostalgia sake, but as a bit of an observation experiment.

Junior year... I was on my way to his class one day when Jason and I got in a big ole cursing war in front of his door because Jason had broken my heart... Mr. Durham flew at us guns blazing and shut us down immediately with threatening to send us to the office. I dipped in the door, sat down and waited for class to begin as I chatted with Shanda, Heather and Angela... we sat in a little 4-square as we did in the few classes that we all took together. As he was in the middle of a good run on some topic that escapes me, someone interrupted him and HE began to curse... I turned to the girls and whispered, "I just got in trouble for saying that in the hallway... what the hell?" We all giggled, Mr. Durham took a minute to grit his teeth and turn red ... and on he went with the class. Don't ask me how all of that came from that photo above that points out SO VIVIDLY the selective memory that this country (generally) has. But it was a nice little memory to weave out for us all... and you younger whippersnappers that are reading along... "hear me now and believe me later", it sure doesn't seem like 23 years ago...
