Spring is Springing
I couldn't be happier that acceptable weather is finally arriving! This has been a dreadful winter! I've been working in the yard this week in an attempt to get the flower beds ready. The Katydid and I will be placing our order with American Meadows early this week and I'm super excited about that!
I'm going to grow a vegetable garden this year. I have no idea what will become of it, but we're about to find out. Evan is our primary cook here and he has given me a list of a few things he'd like to have growing. I saw pics of Amy and Chris' plantings the other day and became completely overwhelmed with an already simmering desire to grow as much of our food as possible this summer.
I'll keep you posted on how that goes and will most likely post updates, projects and such in the gardening section of the Katydid's blog, Love, Home and Health.
Robert Durst
Are you keeping up with Robert Durst? I first learned of Robert Durst after he killed his neighbor some years ago. I was amazed by the story at the time because he quite literally dismembered the victim and walked free. I found it shocking to say the least.
Not too long ago, after The Jinx
began airing I started to hear a rumble again about Robert Durst. Throughout one entire week, things were so hectic that I didn't catch much information - but gathered that they were looking for him. Towards what was possibly the end of the week I saw the photo of him that we've all now seen, smiling in the back of a police car.
Evan and I decided to watch "the Jinx". We became absolutely enthralled from the beginning and watched it in it's entirety over the course of the weekend. It was absolutely the most chilling thing I have ever seen.
As a society, we have become quite desensitized to a lot of the horrific things that happen. We hear them, but after a while they seem to go in one ear and out the other. It's a shame, but it's true. As this series neared it's final episode, the one that I believe started the all out search for Durst; it really dawned on me that as we watch this sensational story that seems so plotted out - it's not a movie, it's a real case that is playing out as we watch.
Kentucky Wildcats
I was sad to see that the Kentucky Wildcats lost and I was even more sad to see that there are people who "hate" the Kentucky Wildcats so that they go out of their way to be antagonistic on "the Facebook".
I am a huge fan of the Wildcats and glad that their season went this well. Not so long ago was a stretch during which at least one time, they didn't even make it to the tournament.
- 1954 Kentucky Wildcats (25–0) — declined a bid to the NCAA Tournament due to an NCAA ruling that graduate students could not compete.
- The 38-1 finish that Kentucky achieved this year (2014-2015) appears to be the "highest finish" in NCAA history. This is only deciphered from a quick scan of "Perfect Season" on Wiki.
