Good morning and Happy Monday Gang!
I have to admit I woke on the wrong side of the couch this morning after dozing off watching TV last night... now my whole self is in a kink - I'm hoping my muscles will unravel as the morning wears on.
I'm back on the cleaning and remixing gig today for what I'm hoping is the last day. The
I don't want to only gripe about this fellow... I was scrubbing what appeared to be an explosion of chocolate off of the kitchen ceiling a couple of days ago when he burst into the house screaming, "I made a sale! I made a sale!" He's a go-getter and he has a lot of potential... bless his heart he is also a master procrastinator... and if anyone on earth understands that, I do...

I'm pleased to say I've turned a few people on to blogging ...
my Mom, the Katydid - The Bird's Eye View of the Katydid
my friend Mary, although she's on a hiatus right now...
Another is my friend Amy the Spirit Dancer. During one of her Christmas visits to the Ocho we spent some time setting up her blogspot and messing with her design. I'm so proud to say, Amy and my Mom both have incredible consistency in blogging. Mom blogs daily and Amy blogs at least 2 times a week. I often go the way of Howard Hughes and enter a complete shutdown... so I'm really lacking in the consistency of writing every day and I think I found something in Amy's blog this morning that's going to help me...
One of her weekly posts is called This Week in the Spirit Dancer.
I've posted her copy below...
Reading: Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris
Listening to: Cat Stevens, Rush, Janis Joplin
Watching: Scrubs
Thinking about: Money $
Learning: Life would be awesome if I could pay my bills.
Doing: Planning my vending weekend.
Pet Peeves: Same old stuff...rude people, moochers, guys without their shirts, etc.
Happy Thoughts: Crafting
Best Quote: Be a possibilitarian!
Looking forward to: Vending this weekend.
So here's my version below...
Reading: Quotationary - this is a fabulously delightful book full of quotes organized by subject with an index in the back. I refer to it often and highly recommend it.
Listening to: I've been listening mostly to Pandora this week. I do love Pandora and I have about a dozen stations, but I've been listening to a station I made in 2008 which has had me catching a lot of songs I haven't heard in a while... Often I hit my SoundHound and share these to my facebook news feed for your enjoyment... :)
Watching: As always, I've been taking in a daily dosage of Crime TV (mostly on ID), with my "afternoon" spattering of Leave It To Beaver. :) When I stop my day ... be it at 6pm or 9pm, I sit down, watch an episode or two of Leave it to Beaver and then go right on into the news while I'm still on my nostalgic buzz... In addition to that, I've caught several good concerts lately - one of which was on KET, Front Row Center w/ Richard Marx. I swear to God, Richard Marx ... hahaha, but it was fabulous and I thoroughly enjoyed it and if you were hearing Richard Marx in your teenage years I suggest you catch it. Even if you didn't like him. Honestly, I thought he was kind of a pansy myself ... but wow, what a performance ... good stuff!
Thinking about: the possibility that the conditions are right for another meltdown if a very few people don't back off of me ... income streams for the week ... the much needed mountain get-a-way with Go-Go and Murr to visit Amy at the end of August ... the Parkview Yard Sale on Saturday ((if you kids are interested you can talk to Ms. Maloney :) I'm gonna catch up with her later for details...)) finding a couple of outlets in town for my KCoJax Local Flavor postcards and magnets and such ... checking on booth space for Super City Blues & Ques and wondering if I'd be better off with a booth space or just roaming with a camera shooting and handing out cards ... finishing the notes I've been making on new Candid Kid shoots ... setting up a time to meet Haley's Home Improvement at the Farmhouse to shoot new footage ... setting up a time to absolutely eat crow with a couple of people ... finding a part-time job in Metropolis ... finding an investor to the tune of about $2800 ... finishing a couple of paintings and selling them ( the purple octopus and monterey pop ) ... getting this current cleaning and remixing project done and scheduling another one for sometime in the next week ... if I can take the time to go to an all expenses paid Bodean's concert Saturday night in St. Louis ... why in the name of Christ Cymbalta costs $160 per month and what the f*ck is wrong with this world and the way it does things ... finding someone to get me in the middle of the Ohio River on a boat so I can shoot the drought ... that's all that's running through my mind at the moment...
Learning: Procrastination is the 8th deadly sin...
Doing: having the last few minutes of my a.m. java time and getting ready to go clean and remix... I also need to check on an ill friend later whom if I'm not mistaken hasn't been out of bed in two days ... this man's illness was caused by excessive drinking before he knew better, friends - don't forget that!!!!
Pet Peeves: people who forgot that their having sex led to a child who is thirsty and hungry and on my front lanai asking ME for food and drink while they're napping.... people who do things because that's the way they've always been done ... people who don't think for themselves ... people who run with the herd and don't understand lofty thoughts and dreams ... people who think that the status quo is okay and there's nothing we can do about it ...
Happy Thoughts: Today could be the day I come home to find more than one sale for the month on Flawn Ocho!! If you need a new java mug, you can buy one by clicking HERE :)
Best Quote: Be a possibilitarian! ... I'm leaving Amy's quote there because we all need to read it again ... "Procrastination is the 8th Deadly Sin" - Kim Comer Jackson ... and Yes, I'll have that on a magnet or something within 48 hours...
Looking forward to: Getting done with the current job and getting in one big long crazy day of cleaning in at the Ocho... I've been running in and out of here like a chicken with it's head cut off for the last week or so. Also, going on the mountain get-a-way. Also, getting to the other side of the yard sale this weekend.
Wow ... I'm exhausted from that ...
it was like the ultimate brain dump ... I need a staff ...
It's 10:05 and I've gotta wrap things up and get outta here ....
Have a Grand and Groovy Day and Don't Text and Drive!!
