A Saturday Morning Catch Up...

Saturday Morning at the Ocho ...

I love Saturday mornings...

Getting in touch with me on Saturday morning used to be like getting access to Fort Knox and it's about to be again.

Fort Knox is most likely empty by the way ... you can Google for the documentary and formulate your own opinion...

Aaaanywho, I feel like I've been in a state of flux for the last four years or so ... which has been absolutely unGodly exhausting.  For years I've said I was "waiting for the dust to settle"... but I'm starting to realize if our dust settles then that means we are sitting totally still, thus making no progress on anything...

I don't know why it took me so long to realize that ... but I've gotta tell ya', once I did I just started making slow steady progress on everything...

This week I cleaned up from the yard sale that I almost had ... I've continued to sort through boxes and have now planned the yard sale for June 1 and 2 ... I've worked on many things that people are waiting for and wanting to see...

I detest the fact that I over commit myself.  It's always with good intentions, but many of you have experienced how the time frame goes.  That's one of my largest goals for this year.

I've enlisted my friend Go-Go to be my "self-improvement drill sergeant"... I'm going to give her a list of things that I want to work towards and improve on and she then has permission to hound the living monkeys out of me about them without me screaming in her face (which I have a habit of doing when someone gets in my space and orders me around.. I would've NEVER made it in the military)

Anywho... I'm now in the middle of Memorial Day Hail Mary Weekend 2012 - It's my intention to sleep as little as possible and work as much as possible on everything that is unfinished and unorganized in this apartment, coming out of the weekend with everything just the way I want it.  You have no earthly idea what a task I'm up against... but I'll certainly bring you a big ole' "MTV Cribs" style video tour when I have everything complete...

I have some furniture I hope to refinish, some carpets I'd like to shampoo, quite a few things I'd like to post on Facebook for sale and get out of my way before the yard sale and about a zillion other things I'd like to do.

This is not to mention the things I want to finish on web projects, video stuff, blog stuff and graphics stuff ... keep your finger crossed, kids ... if it's that hectic to read it you can imagine how hectic it is to think it and be hellbent to accomplish it...

So before I embarked on this weekend I wanted to unwind and clear my head... A friend and I went on Thursday Night to check out the Hilltop.  I spent many delightfully wonderful evenings at the Hilltop years ago ... some would find that hard to believe - but I'll go into it some day.  Suffice it to say that in the mid-90's when I was a meek little 20-something lovey, I was also a band wife and the Hilltop was one of my favorite places for the band to play ...

I'd recently heard that the Hilltop had undergone renovations and they were really stepping things up a bit, so when my friend Brando and I were making plans to catch up on life's events - I suggested we go to the Hilltop and it was absolutely the best call I've made in ages... Delicious food, great drinks and on Thursdays they have Pool League something-or-other as well as Karaoke!  The part I love most bestest of all in the world is that you can smoke inside because it's in the county ... for me it's like being at Disneyland... I highly recommend it...

Yesterday I was completely out of whack from staying up late and though I didn't get started with things until well into the afternoon I did get quite a few must-dos done and get over to Fort Massac in time to shoot a few pictures of Movie Night in the Park (<--that link will take you to their FB page to see movie schedule and details) ...

I didn't stay for the movie... I was anxious to get back home, see John Quinones and begin the "Hail Mary", but I have to tell you if you're in the area; this is a wonderful event - especially if you have kids.  The cost is free and concessions are sold by the Massac County Cheerleaders, just bring your lawn chairs and blankets. (See above link for details, I'm not affiliated with Movies in the Park in any way)

I have quite a bit on my list for today... hopefully it will include going for a bike ride in the deliciously scalding heat of the day and gathering with Murr and Go-Go tonight for a drive...
