::Random & Groovy Things About Me:: - Online Time

Contrary to popular belief, I am not online 24 hours a day - 7 days a week.


In most cases, I use a site called Hootsuite to schedule posts during the time of the day that I want them to go.  Hootsuite allows me to schedule my Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, etc - In addition to that, Blogger allows me to schedule at what time I want each post to publish.


It tickles me though - I have had people to express some very genuine concern.  If the comments, messages, emails and texts I've gotten since I started scheduling things is any indication; there really are some people who think that I got through spells during which I'm just hunkered down and writing like a mad woman 24/7.


No worries, though I do sincerely appreciate the concern. :)

I am an anti-tomatite.  In fact, when I waited tables .. my least favorite side work was "doin' the ketchups". ugh, gross!  The smell of ketchup makes me gag.


I sometimes eat it on my fries using total caution not to inhale it's wafty grossness, but only if it's room temperature and it must be Hunt's brand.  



Look at that little bast*rd grinnin ... He makes me gag! 

  I do love fried green tomatoes, 
but I've never gotten around to seeing the film...

I've never seen the movie Titanic and I don't plan to.  I have nothing against the Titanic personally ... it was a terrible disaster; but I'd rather watch a three hour documentary about the Titanic as opposed to a three hour love story about the Titanic.

... Really, I'm okay with it!!

An impeccable display of Good Samaritan-ship!

I couldn't tell you for sure exactly how I ran across this video while perusing on YouTube this morning ... but it's intrigued me. 


This fellow, a film maker as it were ... was snow shoeing, cross-country skiing or something or other in Brooklyn's Prospect Park and found an undeveloped role of film.  

He's now had the film developed and is in search of the owners of the film.  There's an underlying story of $26 dollars.  It's a very groovy little story.

01/19/2011 - A Day Late - Birthdays, "Old Rip" the Texas Toad and More

Good morning folks!  It was my intention to get this posted last night (1/19).  I started yesterday off with a delightful treat - breakfast with my parents and one of my brothers.  Yesterday was my brother's 43rd birthday and in an effort to get our schedules to match up before this monumental 2 to 3 inches of snow we're expecting, we opted for breakfast.  The switch to morning put me closer to having taken my blood pressure pills - so it worked out really well, I thought - I think I may request breakfast for my birthday!

Not only was yesterday my brother's birthday, it was also my grandpa Bro Don's birthday.  Bro Don is the oldest practicing Southern Baptist pastor in the state of IL.  He was a pilot in the war in the vicinity of Austria and encountered Bob Hope and Bing Crosby two times in one day after returning to the states.  He has fascinating stories to tell when you can get him to turn down the TV and tell them.

I stopped by in the evening at 6:54 with a few goodies and birthday treats and he had already shut the place down for the evening - so I'll make it my goal to bop over early today.

Not only is today the birthday of Kev and Bro Don ... It's also National Popcorn Day and the birthday of Edgar Allen Poe and Dolly Parton ... More ::on this days below:: - some with ::Extra Goodies:: thrown in - Enjoy!

The show was the creation of prolific television producerNorman Lear. However, unlike some of his other shows, it was less sharply political in tone and The Jeffersons evolved into more of a traditional sitcom, relying more on the characters' interactions with one another rather than explicitly political dialog or storylines. It did, however, tackle a few serious topics including racism, suicide,gun control and adult illiteracy. Also, the words "nigger" and "honkey" were used occasionally, especially during the earlier seasons.^{[citation needed]}

The show had one spin-off, titled Checking In. The short lived series was centered around the Jeffersons' housekeeper, Florence.Checking In only lasted four episodes, after which Florence returned to The Jeffersons.

The show ended in controversy after CBS abruptly canceled the series without allowing for a properseries finale. The cast were not informed until after the June 25, 1985, episode "Red Robins," and actorSherman Hemsley said he found out that the show was canceled by reading it in the newspaper.^[2] The cast later reunited in a stage-play based on the sitcom. In the series finale of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1996 the Jeffersons made a guest appearance and bought the house from the Banks' family.

In 1985, Sherman Hemsley and Isabel Sanford made a special guest appearance as the Jeffersons in the TV comic show Grand Hotel, where the Italian actors Gigi Sammarchi, Andrea Roncato, Franco Franchi,Ciccio Ingrassia, Carmen Russo were starring in. They are guests in the hotel but just appeared twice during the show, for a total of five minutes. They were dubbed by their Italian voices, Enzo Garinei (George) and Isa di Marzio (Louise), which also dubbed their characters for the full series.
