I Lied About John Henrietta and Jerry Garcia... and I'm SO Ashamed...

Have you ever lied before you realized you lied?

I'll bet we all have at some time or another on a touchy subject...
as Dr. House says ... "Everybody lies..."

It happened to me a couple of weeks ago when a friend asked me if I had been able to get rid of the cats who have been residing here for the past several months... I said, "Yeah.."

As soon as I said it my noggin started screaming at me... "That was a bold face lie! Why did you say that?"  I was screaming back at me inside my head, "I don't KNOW!!  It was asked so condescendingly it made me feel uncomfortable!  I didn't want anyone to think I'm a "cat lady""

Now luckily this wasn't an earth shattering lie... But a lie is still a lie and I immediately knew that I was planning to get rid of the cats on Facebook any day and now this person I've been friends with since just after the turn of the century would know I had lied....

But the fact remains that I can't continue to harbor these precious fellows in my apartment with my lease as it is ... and with only 600 square feet in which for them to entertain themselves...

John Henry
(affectionately called John Henrietta Hermaphrodite by me)
John Henry was initially named Henrietta Moon Flower....
but then her scrotum appeared... haha...
making her a him and changing the name I'd been calling him to
either John Henry or John Henrietta Hermaphrodite...haha
Now I know how Cher feels... John Henry is a typical "stand-off-ish" cat.  He seems to want to come up and visit with me about twice a day ... aside from that, he's hanging out on his own.  He's a fairly laid back fellow, does a lot of napping and enjoys playing with leaves.

He currently lives inside and thoroughly enjoys it.  He likes to go outside to investigate twice a day or so, but is usually back at the door meowing within ten minutes.  He's litter box trained and one day literally dragged one of the "plastic grocery sacks" into the litter box ... I assume in an attempt to scoop it because I had forgotten to do so that morning before I left.  When I returned home that evening, he led me down the hallway meowing all the way ... when we arrived at the litter box I stood amazed as John Henry poked at the sack and looked at me as if to say, "I've already got your sack, b*tch ... scoop that thang out!"

Jerry Garcia

Jerry Garcia is the one on the right...
Jerry Garcia is a miracle kitty ... several months ago he apparently shocked himself while sipping water from the trickling aquarium in the living room, which threw him to the floor (an apartment floor, thin carpet on concrete) giving him a head injury...

I sent him to my folks house later that day because I really felt he wasn't going to make it.  I might be a hard a$$ about a lot of things, but I didn't think I could handle the passing of the kitty while I watched and I knew I couldn't handle the disposal.

Mom called the next day and told me Jerry Garcia was walking around and meowing and seemed good, so she was bringing him back.  His mouth was a pitiful little mess ... evidently where he'd been burned from the shock on the aquarium ... I suppose it also could've been that his teeth went up into his face when he fell ... honestly it was just a gory mess.  After a little peroxide and human cortizone cream, the mouth looked better but he still wouldn't eat or drink.

I went to Petsmart and got a hamster bottle ... he wouldn't drink out of it ... as a last ditch effort at approximately two days after little Jerry Garcia had had anything to eat or drink... I grabbed hold of the back of his head and sprayed him in the face and mouth with the bottle...  It was as if his little face had been paralyzed and just came to life.  He started lapping up the water and cleaning his face for the first time since the ordeal had began... THANK GOODNESS!

I was really thinking I was going to send him out to the folks so Dad could send him to "kitty heaven" ... what was I going to do?  Hook him up to a feeding tube?  I can barely afford to keep myself alive, much less a paralyzed cat with a head injury ...

Anywho, Jerry Garcia has continued his recovery with only one minor incident involving a candle...
it seemed he could smell the candle, but couldn't feel the heat.  So bless his pea pickin' heart, he walked right up to it and stuck his face in it.... his hair has filled back in now though and he looks as if he's never had the first mishap.

He has a remarkably delightful demeanor despite all he's been through and is a very peaceful kitty.  He doesn't do a lot of "haywire running around".  He currently lives inside, but he does like to go outside to play and snoop around a few times a day.  He's litter box trained and will sometimes meow at the door to go out of doors to the restroom...

Here I Am...

I have been cocooning, gang...
Do you know what cocooning is?

In "my"definition, it is "going underground", pondering, planning, catching up and recharging one's batteries...
and I was in great need of it.   My "undergroundedness" generally begins around Halloween when the weather starts cooling off.  I don't like Winter ... in fact, I detest Winter and pretty much everything about it including but not limited to .. the holidays and this arctic blast that moved in yesterday morning.

I'm feeling a bit angryish with a few things lately ...

I have a neighbor who likes to sleep on his couch (which borders my LIVING room) and he seems to think since he's chosen to sleep on his couch that I should cease all noise and movement until he wakes ... which is generally around 11 ...  He's called the police on me once (upcoming blog about that) and he's probably going to have an ambulance called for himself by the end of the weekend if he keeps it up .... Honestly I'm a pretty easy person to get along with ... but he's one of those "springer people" who doesn't know how to effectively communicate.  He's being an unreasonable puke and I don't have the time, nor will I make the time to tippy toe around his tomfoolery....  I'll even do a bedroom remix for him free of charge ... where else could he get a deal like that?!

Let's see ... what else is rubbing me wrong?
I've got to get this stuff vented out ... I'm sure happy you're along for the ride :)

Oh YES! People keep telling me about jobs that I could "apply for".

If I haven't made an announcement already, I want to be sure to ... I'm what's called a "freelance contractor".  I work for myself.  I do Marketing projects such as Facebook, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Media and Event Planning, etc .... I'm also a photographer ... and the remixing and designing skills I've been honing since getting in trouble on multiple occasions for moving my canopy bed around my bedroom as a child haven't paid off too shabbily either.   A "regular room remix" can "pay my way" for anywhere between 2 days and 10 days ... and a "major room remix" (i.e. painting, etc) can "pay my way" for as long as a month...

So while I do appreciate that folks occasionally tell me of ways that I can toil 40 hours a week away working towards someone else's goals ... of which they're usually not even clear themselves ... I have to decline as I've spent far too many years "working for the man".  I do realize that it's due to "wanting the best for me", but I can assure you that what is best for me is to make my own decisions and work towards my own goals and I do of course always appreciate your prayers and good vibes on that front.

I can't tell a lie ... it's been very tight financially at times ... what I like to call "Counting cigarettes and eating Ramen Noodles tight".  I have counted cigarettes, but I haven't eaten Ramen Noodles ... I hate those things...

Anywho, things are really and truly starting to look up now ... I have only one client left that I need to totally humble myself before and eat crow with and I'm planning to do that this weekend...

I have a multitude of stuff that I've been piling up from my excavation of the Ocho and it's surrounding properties that's going to be sold, donated, thrown away, given away, etc ... including but not limited to two cats, a portable tv/vcr combo and an incredible red table .. the likes of which I've never seen and who knows what else.

Also, something for you to be extremely excited about, I'm sure ...
you can start keeping an eye out for posts on a more frequent basis.
I always edit and rewrite myself to death before posting
and I'm going to try and pull my reigns back on that a bit...
so I hope you enjoy whatever flies out of here :)
