I changed my FB yesterday morning to ....
"Kim Comer Jackson is a bit curious after a conversation with a dear friend around the koffice table last night ... What social networking sites are you on? Feedback and thoughts on social networking? If your thoughts are too long for a comment, feel free to send it in a msg."
Let me first say that I hate speaking in third person. My grandma Comer used to do it and it drove absolutely batdoodie nuts ..... "Would Kim like Grandma to make a Red Baron pizza?", she would ask me .... Ugh ... Understanding grammar now, I wish I would've said, "Maybe after we stop speaking about ourselves like we're not here ..... Stop speaking in THIRD PERSON!!!!!.
Anywho, I digress.... I changed the thingy because of an absolutely hilarious conversation that I had in my kitchen night before last with a friend.
We were talking about social networking and blogging. I told my friend that I had sent a message to Yoko Ono letting her know that I had linked to her IMAGINE PEACE site in my blog and offering a few words of admiration.
This is the conversation that followed::
My friend: Do you KNOW Yoko Ono?
Me: Not personally, but she does follow my 'Tweets"!
My friend: Oh ... I didn't know you "tweeted" ... I don't "tweet" .... Do you "tweet" a lot?
Me: Not too often ... but I expect that I'll start "tweeting" more now, (in hopes that Yoko will notice my name and read the message I sent.) and I just started "tumblring" this morning and I've been flickring for a while too, but I'm gonna .
My friend: "Oh my God .... Tumblring?!?!"
After only a couple of minutes of conversation peppered with words like "tweeting", "tumblring" and "flickring"... we were both laughing til we could have wet ourselves ... speaking in "old lady" voices and saying things like, "Do you remember back when they invented that interweb?"....we went on and on.
Anywho, the reason I come to you today is to ask you three questions about your social networking habits for a prOject I'm toying with.....
1. What social networking sites do you use?
2. What made you decide to use a social networking site? (i.e. a friend talked you into it, a friend/family moved away and you wanted to keep in touch, etc)
3. What frustrates you MOST about social networking sites?
That's it! :) Just those three questions, if you have time for them....
Have a Grand and Groovy Day!!
